The 2012 HBF Rottnest Channel Swim

The 2012 HBF Rottnest Channel Swim is a 19.7km swim from Cottesloe Beach to Thomson Bay, Rottnest Island in Western Australia. Participants can compete in teams of two or four, or for the extremely dedicated, tackle the crossing solo.

The event has grown in popularity to become the world's largest open water swimming event and is now a much-loved West Australian icon, capturing the imagination of the public and ocean swimmers alike. Other open water swims are longer, but travel from bay to bay - this event is unique in that it travels from one location to another across a big, open ocean!

The HBF Rottnest Channel Swim is not reserved for the swimming elite, but provides an opportunity for anyone who shares the common goal of striving for the best to compete in an environment where sporting greats rub shoulders with the weekend warrior.

The challenge is now on to make 2012 the best swim ever - both in terms of crossing the ocean safely and successfully. Swimmers old and new will come together to reminisce over past stories and honour the wonderful event they have helped write into the history books.

Cancellation Policy

In the event of a non starting race please be advised that on condition that your reservation is cancelled before scheduled departure, a Credit Note will be issued to the full value of your price paid per person. Alternatively, on condition that your reservation is cancelled before scheduled departure, refunds can be offered to the value of the total price paid per person less a $10.00 per person administration charge; this charge does not apply to infants and toddlers 3 years and under.

In the event that the race is cancelled once the swim is underway, standard Rottnest Express cancellation policy applies. Any cancellations made before scheduled departure will receive a Credit Note to the full value of your price paid per person

A valid ticket, online receipt, or booking reference must be either sighted or quoted to claim the credit note or refund. Refunds are only available for the travel date 25th February 2012.
