A life-affirming spectacle that's not to be missed….
Catch the excitement of the annual migration with the best views of the magnificent Humpback whales and Southern Right whales.
Catch a major whale migration route that runs near Perth shores
It’s part of an ancient system of ocean paths that circle the planet, vastly predating any road of man. Whale experts call it the Humpback Highway.
The Humpback Highway is not marked on any map. Only our experienced team of scientists can guide you there.
Gain an appreciation for how whales navigate this amazing highway
Each year around April, the humpbacks leave rich feeding grounds in Antarctica to calf and raise their young in warmer waters, off the Kimberley. This lane of the highway is far off-shore from Perth.
The return trip in September through December brings the whale and their newborn’s much closer to the coast. It’s the perfect time to seek an encounter.

“I would recommend everyone who goes to Perth should be on this trip. It was the most memorable and fantastic trip we had ever had. The “guide” was great and gave heaps of information and was so passionate about what she was doing. We were so glad that we finally chose Rottnest Express cos it’s the best!”
